No words really seem like enough to describe how grateful I am to have been on the Medicine Maker's Journey.

The personal growth I've experienced alongside the wealth of practical knowledge feels too big to describe. I am still absorbing everything Callie taught us in this class. It is packed full of so much information I didn't know I needed. But more than the recipes, the practical how-to, and the absolute abundance of both written and plant materials she provides, she taught us how to begin to listen to the plants themselves as our teachers. To learn about our individual ancestral lineages and incorporate the plant knowledge that has been there for centuries.

This course was exactly what I needed to tune into the herbs and plants growing wild on my property, to my ancestral line, and most of all to my own intuition. I cannot recommend this course enough to anyone looking to begin herbalism, or for an experienced practitioner looking to deepen their practice. As a beginner, I was able to keep up with the class pace, despite there being such a wealth of information that was all new to me.

A heartfelt thanks to Callie for sharing her knowledge. I'm so happy I was able to learn from her!

Many, many thanks for sharing your gifts so generously with us 💕

~Brieanna Lyda Chesser, The Medicine Makers Journey 2025-2026

“This course has been absolutely incredible, it was quite literally an answer to many of my prayers as I had made several attempts at herbal medicine making, and quickly gave up because it was all far too overwhelming.

The way Callie explains everything is very captivating and easy to follow, and I love how easy it feels to integrate these things into my life when they seemed so complicated before. I've been inspired in so many ways to pursue things I don't believe I would have had the confidence to dive into earlier on.

The tea making class definitely activated the biggest fire in me, and i've been really enjoying experimenting with different herb combos and gifting tea blends to my friends and coworkers, it's become a love language in itself! It's been helping me start to break out of my shell in a myriad of ways that I definitely think I need, as I'm naturally very quiet and introverted, and I've found myself reaching out and making more connections with people in my everyday life in ways that I believe are beneficial for everyone.

These classes are quite literally the highlight of my month, you can really feel the love, time and energy Callie has put into creating this course, and none of those details have gone unnoticed. I'm endlessly grateful for this opportunity to learn from her, and so excited for what's still to come.

Infinite blessings”

Who is this class for?

This course is for herbalists, homesteaders, healers, caregivers, and creatives…anyone ready to deepen their connection to plant medicine and build the confidence to make and share it.

Whether you’re brand new or returning to the craft, this journey will meet you where you are.

“Simply put, this class has expanded and changed my life in  ways I was not expecting and in ways I didn’t even know I needed. Callie is an extraordinarily gifted  teacher. She somehow manages to meet each of us exactly where we are in our medicine making journey and in life. Her caring and support are unmatched in any other class I have ever taken.

Before class began, I received the most incredible ,stunning and  carefully curated box of supplies . I could feel the love emanating from the box before I even  removed the supplies. She has literally thought of everything we might need on this journey.

Callie  joyfully shares all of her wisdom  of plant knowledge and medicine making in a way that  allows beginners and  more experienced herbalists to learn something new in every single class. My home apothecary is growing by the day and the results of making and using this medicine speak for themselves. The journaling prompts and class homework allow you   the opportunity to dive as deep into any topic as you feel called to do.

Access to class recordings, pdfs, links and class notes make it easy to go back and review the material again.  My cohort is the most amazing group of women from across the globe and I have made life long friends bound by this  very sacred journey we are on together.  If you are feeling called to this class, I promise it will deliver beyond your wildest dreams.”

Meet your Instructor

Callie Blue Heron North

I am an island raised daughter of the land, a mother of two, partner to a woodsman, and overall life enthusiast. I live off grid in the forest, where my days are spent gathering plants and making medicines.

I consider myself a folk herbalist, though I have also studied clinical methods throughout my herbal path. I have been working with plants for more than 15 years and have run a brick-and-mortar apothecary on Lopez Island for the past decade. I have been teaching in-person classes for nearly 15 years, and brought my work online for the first time last year. It has been deeply rewarding to connect with students from many different corners of the Earth via the inter webs.

It took me many years to realize that my greatest joy in the world of herbalism is making medicine. I find it to be extremely rewarding, spiritual, and ultimately, deeply fun. I want to share this joy with you and help support you along your plant path, whether you are new to the craft or looking to deepen the knowledge you already carry.

The Medicine Maker’s Journey was born out of the absolute excitement and joy I take in making herbal medicines. I am confident you will leave this course deeply inspired and connected to a whole new way of relating with the world of plants.

“Callie is an exceptional teacher. She applies her knowledge base in a well curated approach that is not only organized, it is approachable. The applications and techniques she covers is useful to the new herbalist as well as the well seasoned. Everyone will come away from her course nourished and well versed on good medicine making.

Included in the cost of tuition is not only her expertise and desire to help her students learn, she provides the bulk of the materials you will need. She provides quality materials that is obvious she puts a lot of thought into her decisions and she packages them up so you have access to what you need, when you need it. You are also provided with the knowledge of how and what to do with the supplies.

Even though this series of classes were online with zoom, you feel like you are there in the room with her and the other students. Friendships are forged in this series. You cannot help it. The environment is nurturing and conducive to expansion and exploring what plants have to offer us.

I highly recommend her series of classes, I certainly came away with a stronger sense of how to make good medicine along with the confidence needed to accomplish this.”

“Callie is a phenomenal teacher.

I've participated in both a 6-week and a year-long course. What has stood out to me is how much Callie gives to us. We get everything listed, and everything intended, and we get so much more information, detail, and real care from her as a teacher. It's amazing.

I am a beginner, and the courses are welcoming to me and also are crafted for the more advanced learner.

What Callie creates is special.”

Ann Marie SB ~ Medicine Makers Journey 2025-2026

“I am loving this herbal journey that I’m on with Callie. I’ve been growing and making things with herbs for years, but this course is really deepening my knowledge in both ways I expected and also in ways that are so much more than I imagined.

It’s so expansive. We’re learning about making things with plants, but we’re also learning about astrology, consciousness, self-care, personal rituals, connection with others, natural cycles, herstory, and generosity toward oneself and others.

I mean really… what is this course not about?”

Maggie Taylor ~ Medicine Makers Journey 2025-2026

“The attention and care Callie puts in to the course is undeniable. Between the theoretical frameworks, the generous amounts of actual plant medicine and materials we receive, and the community, the class offers and incredible value and a meaningful way to begin and also continue engaging with plant medicine. It's the perfect blend of science and woo woo.

I can't recommend enough.”
